By favouring a niche of precious media Stephen induces light refraction through the translucent surfaces that encapsulates the conventional picture plane. The result is a tactile relief that transforms the canvas through the bulbous relationship of canvas and media.
As an artist touched by sight affliction it was perhaps inevitable that elements of the nature of this unique viewpoint would inspire him to commemorate beauty within an unfamiliar landscape which appears to have no sense of scale or logical perspective. Stephen continues to work alongside organizations and creative practitioners and has exhibited work at The Richard Attenborough Centre, London's Bankside Gallery and Chelsea, New York.
